Salaries of ophthalmic surgeon, rehabilitologist, video editor, intl driver in top of growth in 2022 – study
KYIV. Jan 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The average salary in Ukraine remained at the level of about UAH 15,000 throughout 2022, however, a significant increase in salaries was recorded for a number of professions, according to the results of a labor market study, published by Work.ua on Monday.
"The war and the economic crisis in Ukraine forced businesses to optimize their costs, and in the first few months of last year, wages in some areas fell sharply. At a time when most Ukrainians had their wages reduced and some lost them, there were professions in which it increased by 66.7%," the company said.
According to it, the salary of an ophthalmic surgeon increased by record 66.7% – from UAH 12,000 in January to UAH 20,000 in December 2022, a chemist – by 42%, to UAH 17,750, a video editor – by 41.6%, to UAH 21,000, and rehabilitologist – by 40%, to UAH 17,500.
For an international driver, the growth was 38.3%, to UAH 41,100, for a foreign trade manager – 32.5%, to UAH 26,500, and for an author of texts – by 32.2%, to UAH 20,000.
It is noted that the IT sector was the least affected by the crisis in the labor market, including in connection with the linking of salaries to the dollar or euro. So, the salary of a web programmer and a 3D visualizer increased by 56-61%, to UAH 35,000, by 52%, to UAH 72,000 for a full stack programmer, and by 38.7%, to UAH 33,500 for a WordPress programmer.
If we talk about other industries, then, according to Work.ua, in agriculture and agribusiness, wages increased by 23.8%, to UAH 20,000, in education and science – by 16%, to UAH 14,500, in medicine and pharmaceuticals – by 14.3%, to UAH 16,000, in transport and auto business – by 10%, to UAH 22,000 in December, and in real estate – by 9.1%, to UAH 30,000.
It is specified that in these categories the highest salary in December 2022 was offered to an international driver – UAH 40,000, a real estate sales manager – UAH 31,500, a dental technician – UAH 27,500, a sales manager in the field of agribusiness – UAH 22,500, and business coach – UAH 20,500.
