Saakashvili transferred to prison hospital against his will – Georgian ombudsman
TBILISI. Nov 9 (Interfax) – Georgian ombudsman Nino Lomjaria visited former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili at the prison hospital in Tbilisi early on Tuesday morning.
"Saakashvili says that he was deceived into agreeing to be transported to the prison hospital in Tbilisi, as doctors at the Rustavi prison told him that he would be transferred to a civil clinic," Lomjaria told reporters.
When, upon arrival at the Gldani prison in Tbilisi, Saakashvili understood what had happened, he refused to leave the ambulance and was dragged out of it by force, she said.
"Saakashvili refused to be examined by a doctor. He didn’t mention any bodily harm inflicted on him in conversation with me, and it wasn’t visible either," Lomjaria said.
Lomjaria also said that Saakashvili looked relatively fine to her.
