Russian occupation forces open fire at border guard unit in Luhansk region

KYIV. Sept 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – On Thursday morning, Russia-led forces fired twice at the location of the Schastia Border Guard Service in Luhansk region, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reports.

"This morning, the armed forces of the Russian Federation twice fired on the location of the Schastia Border Guard Service of the 3rd Border Guard Detachment named after the Hero of Ukraine, Colonel Yevhen Pikus," the message told.

The border guard unit is stationed directly in the settlement, not far from the disengagement line with ORLO.

The classification of the ammunition that was fired on is still being clarified by the relevant authorities. It is known that the enemy also adjusted the firing with the help of the unmanned aerial vehicle. As a result of the shelling, several units of equipment and an administrative building were damaged. Fortunately, no one was injured, the State Border Guard Service provided an adequate level of security, the agency said.
