Russian gas output up 11.9% to 559.71 bcm in Jan-Sept
MOSCOW. Oct 4 (Interfax) – Gas production in Russia rose 11.9% year-on-year to 559.71 billion cubic meters in the first nine months of 2021, adjusted for the leap year, the latest data from the Central Dispatching Department of the Fuel and Energy Complex (CDU TEK) show.
Gas production in Russia increased by 9.6% year-on-year to 61.05 bcm in September alone.
CDU TEK does not separately publish data on production by gas giant Gazprom. They are included as "estimated" figures in the entry "other resource users," which produced 404.92 bcm in the first nine months of 2021, including 43.32 bcm in September.
Leading independent gas producer Novatek produced 56.71 bcm in the first nine months of 2021, including 5.95 bcm in September. The operators of production sharing agreements produced, respectively, 20.72 bcm and 2.5 bcm of gas.
The biggest gas producers among vertically integrated oil companies were Rosneft, which produced 32.17 bcm in the first nine months, including 3.99 bcm in September; Gazprom Neft with 17.81 bcm and 2.31 bcm; Lukoil with 14.31 bcm and 1.52 bcm; and Surgutneftegas with 6.82 bcm and 727.67 mcm.
Russneft produced 1.55 bcm in the first nine months and 190.65 mcm in September; Tatneft produced, respectively, 626.44 mcm and 75.46 mcm; Bashneft produced 404.89 mcm and 48.93 mcm; and Slavneft produced 418.98 mcm and 62 mcm.
CDU TEK still counts Bashneft production separately, although the company has been part of Rosneft since 2016.
