KYIV. Nov 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – An international consortium led by LetterOne, which belongs to Russian businessmen Mikhail Fridman and German Khan, planned to acquire a virtual monobank for more than $1 billion

"There were intensive negotiations. Our side is not yet ready for the transaction. It was the interest that led to our reflections. But our readiness was insufficient," Head of the Supervisory Board of Universal Bank, under whose banking license monobank operates, Serhiy Popenko told Forbes.

The virtual bank monobank was founded in January 2017 by former top managers of PrivatBank Gorokhovsky, Dmytro Dubilet and Mykhalo Rohalsky. By October 2017, the bank issued the first thousand credit cards, in February 2018 it began to attract deposits in hryvnia.
