Russian Ambassador to Ottawa summoned to Canadian Foreign Ministry over events in Ukraine
WASHINGTON. Jan 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly announced that Russian Ambassador Oleg Stepanov had been summoned to the Canadian ministry.
"Ottawa is summoning Russia’s ambassador to condemn both Moscow’s attacks on Ukrainian civilians," Joly said at a joint press conference with British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly.
According to her, this is due to the events in Ukraine and some statements by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
