Russia-occupation forces preparing to intensify shelling of positions of Ukrainian army in Donbas – Defense Intelligence Agency
KYIV. Oct 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The command of Russian occupation forces in Donbas is preparing to more actively fire at the positions of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to inflict damage and provoke return fire, Defense Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has said.
"Under the guise of transporting property by road to prepare for the winter period, additional weapons and ammunition are secretly delivered to the advanced units [of Russian mercenaries], sabotage and reconnaissance units arrive, the intensity of combat readiness training has increased, incl. in artillery and mortar units," it said on its Facebook page.
It specifies that in this way the fighters "are secretly preparing to intensify shelling attacks of the positions of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) units with the aim of causing damage, provoking return fire and destroying elements of the surveillance system."
