Russia launches large-scale cyber attack on official website of Energoatom – press service

KYIV. Aug 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – On Tuesday, August 16, Russian hackers launched a large-scale cyber attack on the official website of the state-owned enterprise (SOE) Energoatom, the company’s press service reports.

"Today, on August 16, 2022, the most powerful hacker attack on the official website of SOE National Nuclear Generating Company Energoatom since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia took place. It was attacked from the territory of the Russian Federation," the press service said.

The Russian group People’s Cyber Army launched the cyber attack using 7.25 million bot users, who simulated hundreds of millions of views of the company’s main page for three hours.

"This attack did not significantly affect the operation of the website of SOE National Nuclear Generating Company Energoatom and remained invisible to users," the company said.
