Russia expects European consumers to receive gas via Nord Stream 2 in near future – Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Sept 9 (Interfax) – Russia expects European consumers to begin receiving gas via the Nord Stream 2 pipeline in the near future, but the timeframe for the start of supplies depends on the German regulator’s stance, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

"The timeframe for the start of commercial supplies depends on the German regulator’s position, we expect that millions of European consumers will soon be able to receive Russian gas along the shortest, most economical, and environmentally friendly route," Zakharova said at a press briefing on Thursday.
