Rivneazot completes modernization of non-concentrated nitric acid and ammonia workshops
KYIV. Aug 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – PrJSC Rivneazot, part of the nitrogen business of Group DF owned by businessman Dmytro Firtash, has completed the modernization of industrial equipment at the non-concentrated nitric acid and ammonia shops, which lasted from July 25, 2022.
According to a press release from the holding on Tuesday, the overhaul of a turbine generator set was completed at the non-concentrated nitric acid shop, as well as the overhaul of unit No. 6 with a capacity of 120,000 tonnes of non-concentrated nitric acid per year. In addition, the overhaul of the gas synthesis preparation unit with a capacity of 650 tonnes of ammonia per day was completed at the Ammonia-2 shop.
"It is very difficult for business now. The company’s revenue is falling due to a significant decrease in demand for fertilizers from farmers. Fertilizers have risen in price due to rising prices for the main raw material – gas. Nevertheless, we continue the planned modernization of key industrial sites. Overhauls have been completed, workshops ready for launch," Rivneazot CEO Mykhailo Zabluda was quoted by Group DF as saying.
In addition, this year Rivneazot intends to continue the modernization of production, the decarbonization of technological processes and the reduction of emissions into the atmosphere.
The holding recalled that in 2021 it carried out a large-scale modernization of unit No. 8 at the workshop for production of non-concentrated nitric acid.
