Riverine-2021 Ukrainian-Romanian exercises ended

KYIV. Oct 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Riverine-2021 annual Ukrainian-Romanian exercises, during which about 30 practical exercises were worked out, have come to an end, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine said.

"The Romanian Navy and their border boats, along with the Ukrainian Navy and the ships and boats of the Maritime Guard of the State Border Guard Service, during the exercise passed over 200 nautical miles on the Danube. A single unit and separate tactical groups worked out about 30 practical exercises, showing professionalism and teamwork," the service said on its website.

It is noted that all the tasks of the exercises were completed. The leadership of the exercises noted a high level of coordination and training of the ship and boat personnel, in particular the Maritime Guard of the State Border Guard Service.

"Gaining practical experience, live communication and joint discussion always contributes to the development and consolidation of friendly relations and focuses the efforts of both countries participating in the exercises on ensuring peace and tranquility in the region, reliable protection of borders and readiness for joint effective counteraction of external aggression, if necessary," representative of Izmail Marine Guard detachment at the exercises’ headquarters, Captain of the first rank Mykola Nikoliev said.
