Reznikov: We'll defeat occupiers, Russia to collapse into separate state formations, we'll stay independent, united
KYIV. Aug 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine will win the war against the Russian occupiers, after which the Russian Federation will begin to collapse into separate state formations, Defense Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov has said.
"I wish us all to believe in the victory of Ukraine, I wish you and myself to believe that good will definitely triumph over evil, since we are on the bright side. And it definitely prevails over darkness. We will defeat the orcs and the country of Mordor [Russia] will fall apart into separate state formations," Reznikov said on air of the national telethon on Wednesday.
According to him, even the living Ukrainian will be able to see the process of Russia’s collapse.
"We will remain unified, independent and united," he stressed.
The defense minister also expressed confidence that this year’s Independence Day of Ukraine is one of the most important in the history of the country.
"The meaning of this day for me today has changed a bit compared to last year. For the previous 30 years, this day was just one of the public holidays for me, which gave me a day off and the opportunity to take a walk, go to Khreschatyk [Street] to watch the parade and spend time with friends, with family. However, today I absolutely consciously understand that this is probably the most important day in the history of my country and my family, because Ukraine pays with a large amount of human blood and the lives of Ukrainians for this Independence Day," Reznikov said.
The minister also noted that Ukrainians "should definitely not lose the chance to defend their independence."
"We will definitely defend it. And I want all generations of Ukrainians to celebrate this day, understanding what price has been paid for it," he said.
