Reznikov welcomes decision of Canada, Netherlands to join Ukraine v. Russia lawsuit in Intl Court of Justice
KYIV. Dec 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov welcomes the decision of Canada and the Netherlands to join the genocide case (Ukraine v. Russia) in the International Court of Justice, stressing that the task of lawyers and officials is to achieve a fair sentence at the tribunal for Russian criminals.
"I welcome the decision by Canada on the intervention in the case concerning Allegations of Genocide (Ukraine vs terrorist state) in Court of Justice. The task of our generation – lawyers and officials – is to find, bring before the court and seek a fair verdict at the tribunal for the Russian aggressors," he said on Twitter.
Earlier, Canada and the Netherlands filed a joint application with the International Court of Justice in The Hague to join the Ukraine v. Russia case on violation of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
