Research service established in Rada – order

KYIV. Aug 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk signed an order on the creation of a research service of the parliament in the legislative agency.

"The Research Service was created in order to implement measures to increase the institutional capacity of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, provided for by the recommendations of the European Parliament’s internal reform mission," the chairman’s press service said on the parliament’s website on Friday.

According to the order, the "Institute of Legislation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine" was renamed into "Research Service of the Verkhovna Rada" and its functional purpose was changed.

The parliament’s Research Service will prepare such types of analytical/informational materials as: the concept of the development of sectoral legislation; guide to legislation; parliamentary research; policy brief on comparative law; review dossier; information sheet; proposals to bills and to the plan of legislative work of the Verkhovna Rada; analytical note on the results of monitoring the implementation of the legislative work plan; analytical report.
