Reintegration Ministry working to return 32 deported to Russia children whose parents stay in Ukraine – Vereschuk
KYIV. Oct 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereschuk, who is also the Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, says that the ministry is working to return 32 children deported to Russia, whose parents are in Ukraine.
"We know what children were kidnapped and we demand that Russia return them. As of today, we are working on the return of 32 children who are in the territory of the Russian Federation, but have parents here, and the parents have revealed a desire to return those children," she said on air of the national telethon on Friday.
In addition, the official said that there are facts when Ukrainian children with statuses deported to Russia were illegally adopted.
She stressed that such parents would be prosecuted for the illegal adoption of Ukrainian children.
