Registration of imported used cars in Ukraine 75% down in Nov – Ukrautoprom
KYIV. Dec 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – In November 2022, Ukrainians registered 14,900 used cars imported from abroad, which is almost 75% less than in the same month of 2021, but almost 80% more than the market for new cars, reports Ukrautoprom.
At the same time, compared with October of the current year, the registration of used car imports decreased by 1%.
As reported, in November last year, registrations of used foreign cars increased by 81% compared to November 2020 – up to 58,300 units against the background of the expiration of the term of preferential registration.
In November of this year, according to the association, most often Renault Megane cars (1,028 units) switched to Ukrainian numbers, the second result was for Volkswagen Golf (994 units), the third – for Volkswagen Passat with 709 customs cleared and registered cars.
Also the top five of the month included Skoda Octavia (701 units) and Ford Focus (396 units).
According to Ukrautoprom, in January-November 2022, some 372,500 imported used cars received Ukrainian license plates, which is 21% less than last year (and almost 11 times more than new cars).
As reported, the initial registrations of imported used passenger cars in Ukraine in 2021 increased by 46% compared to 2020 – up to 517,400 units, exceeding the registrations of new cars by five times.
