Registration of electric vehicles in Ukraine increases by 16% for 11 months
KYIV. Dec 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Registrations in Ukraine of new and used electric vehicles in January-November 2021 increased by 15.9% compared to the same period in 2020 – up to 7,613 units, including 13.7% of new car registrations, the Employers’ Federation of the Automotive Industry of Ukraine said.
According to a report on the federation’s website, citing data from the Interior Ministry, thus the share of new cars in registrations is gradually growing (according to the results of the first half of the year it was 10.3%, nine months – 12.8%).
The first and second places in registrations are traditionally occupied by Nissan (26.7% of the market) and Tesla (19.7%), however, their sales are decreasing (compared to last year) – over the 11 months the registration of Nissan decreased by 1% – to 2,033 units, and Tesla by 18%, to 1,499 units.
At the same time, Chevrolet, which ranks third (with a 10% share), increased registrations by 80%, to 760 units, and the Chevrolet Bolt EV model, with a 9.5% share of all registrations, is the third most popular after Nissan Leaf (25.1%) and Tesla Model 3 (9.9%).
Sales growth was also shown by Renault (by 79%), Volkswagen (by 62%), Hyundai (32%), Audi (twice), Mercedes-Benz (by 30%%), which are located further in the ranking.
The federation also notes that in November this year registrations of electric vehicles increased by 72% compared to November last year, but decreased by 3.9% from October this year – to 862 units.
