Real wages in Ukraine up by 6.9% in Sept 2021 – statistics
KYIV. Oct 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Real wages in Ukraine in September 2021 compared to September 2020 increased by 6.9%, and relative to August of this year – by 0.5%, the State Statistics Service reported.
The statistics department said the average nominal wage of full-time employees in September compared to August 2021 increased by 1.7%, and in annual terms – by 18.7%, amounting to UAH 14,239, which is 2.4 times higher than the minimum salary (UAH 6,000).
It is specified that in August 2021 the average nominal wage of full-time employees was UAH 13,997, July – UAH 14,345, June – UAH 14,313, May – UAH 13,499, April – UAH 13,543, March – UAH 13,612, February – UAH 12,549, and January – UAH 12,337.
According to the State Statistics Service, the largest increase in the average wages of full-time employees in September 2021 from September 2020 was observed in Rivne (by 27.3%), Khmelnytsky (by 23.6%), Mykolaiv (by 21.6%), Kyiv (by 21.2%), Volyn (by 19.6%), Zhytomyr (by 19%), Cherkasy (by 18.6%), Kharkiv (by 18.4%) and Lviv (by 18.3%) regions and also in Kyiv (by 19.7%).
The highest average salary in the past month was recorded in Kyiv – UAH 20,658, the lowest in Chernivtsi region – UAH 10,976.
In September 2021, compared to the same month in 2020, wages increased in the field of temporary accommodation and catering – by 37.9%, arts, sports and entertainment – by 35.3%, information and telecommunications – by 26.6%. in agriculture – by 23.9%, in real estate transactions – by 21.9%, in education – by 21.1%, in wholesale and retail trade – by 20.4%, in healthcare – by 18.5%, at transport, postal and courier service enterprises – by 17.8%, in industry – by 16.8%, in financial and insurance activities – by 16.6%, in construction – by 15.5%, in professional, scientific and technical activities – by 14.2%, in the field of administrative services – by 13.5%, public administration and defense – by 13%, the provision of other types of services – by 6.9%.
The service reminds that the data are given without taking into account the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, part of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
