Razumkov says he infected with COVID-19

KYIV. Sept 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov said he had received a positive test result for coronavirus (COVID-19).

"If you suddenly thought that all these tests before mass events were an innocent formality or a tribute to the spirit of the times and in fact they are being asked to do for a formality, then I will disappoint you. Today, for example, such a seemingly formal test before a mass the event helped to identify a patient who, without knowing it, could infect several hundred guests of honor. The test revealed me," Razumkov said on his Facebook page.

The chairman of the Verkhovna Rada said that on Saturday he was going to participate in the Yalta European Strategy, where he was supposed to discuss the rule of law in Ukraine.

"Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the event in person, because in order to comply with all anti-epidemic requirements, I passed the test for coronavirus today. It turned out to be positive. Due to the organizers for the clear position on the issue of countering the pandemic, which made it possible to identify the disease, because there were no obvious symptoms," he said.

Razumkov also expressed hope that he will be able to work online.

"I will be on self-isolation, I will work remotely for a while. Fortunately, I feel good. Take care of yourself and remember that COVID-19 has not disappeared!"
