Razumkov intends to defend his mandate in court in case of mono-majority's intentions to deprive him of his parliamentary powers

KYIV. Oct 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Verkhovna Rada Chairman Dmytro Razumkov does not see a legal opportunity to deprive him of his parliamentary powers and is ready, if necessary, to defend his mandate in court.

"Yes, I will defend my right [to be a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada]. Since this is no longer about a position, but about the ability to do what I promised as a person, as a politician … This will no longer be my own position, not my office. This will be what they voted for both for me and for my colleagues in the parliamentary elections. This is not about the position, but about the people," Razumkov said on the air of the Pryamiy TV channel.

At the same time, he clarified that he was not going to go to court in case of his resignation from the post of speaker of parliament.

"There are no legal grounds [for depriving a deputy’s mandate] … But anything can happen," Razumkov said, answering a question about the possibility of depriving him of his deputy mandate.
