Razumkov expelled from Servant of the People's working chats

KYIV. Oct 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Chairman Dmytro Razumkov has said he was deprived of access to the working chats of the Servant of the People party and its parliamentary faction during a meeting of the conciliatory panel of parliamentary factions and groups on Monday.

"I was expelled. Yesterday [on October 4], at a conciliatory council meeting," Razumkov said at a press briefing on Tuesday.

Asked whether this decision was explained anyhow, Razumkov replied, "Not everyone likes criticism. The difference is that it’s worth listening to, because it helps you correct mistakes and avoid them. When you don’t like this, it’s easier to shut your eyes, ears, and mouth and keep silent. Perhaps this is what prompted their decision, that it’s too much of me in the chats."

He added that the chats helped him "chiefly receive information rather than communicate."

As was reported earlier, the Verkhovna Rada suspended Razumkov from chairing plenary parliamentary sessions for two days. The parliament plans to consider his dismissal from the position on Thursday, October 7.

Razumkov was number one on the Servant of the People’s party ticket in the parliamentary elections in 2019.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said he believed Razumkov’s and the Servant of the People’s political views grew increasingly different. "If we are combating oligarchs, sign the legislation. Everything is that easy. If you don’t sign it, look for another team," Zelensky said at a meeting of the Servant of the People’s parliamentary faction in Truskavets, Lviv region, on October 2.
