Razumkov counts on unbiased investigation of accident with participation of MP Trukhin

KYIV. Aug 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov is counting on impartiality in the investigation of an accident with the participation of MP Oleksandr Trukhin (from the Servant of the People faction) and on the most harsh reaction from law enforcement agencies in case of confirmation of the facts accompanying this incident.

"I think that the media should even say who offered [money for removing publications about this accident] or provide information to law enforcement officers, because it is very interesting. It is not even an accident, because we are all people, and everyone can get into the accident. The question is different: if all other facts related to this accident are confirmed, then the reaction should be tough," Razumkov said at a briefing on Tuesday.

However, he said that he would personally make every effort to ensure that no pressure was exerted on law enforcement officers due to the investigation of this case.

"As far as I understand, now this case will have to be taken by the SBI from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, from the National Police, because this is their area of responsibility. And I hope that the investigation will be absolutely impartial," the chairman said.

In addition, he believes that MP Trukhin himself should comment on the situation, explaining "what actually happened so that we do not engage in speculation now."

"This is correct and honest. I think that this is how it should be done. I hope that a colleague will agree to this," Razumkov said.
