Razumkov calls on Danilov to name MPs being pressured by oligarchs
KYIV. Aug 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov calls on the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Oleksiy Danilov to name exactly the MPs who, in his opinion, are under pressure from the oligarchs.
"I think that Mr. Danilov, as a responsible citizen, has already turned to law enforcement agencies, NABU, NACP, because connection with oligarchs, if they have influence [on MPs] , is corruption. Moreover, I am ready to provide the tribune of the Verkhovna Rada for this purpose – well, to point with a finger who exactly is under such pressure. And if this does not happen, then perhaps, it would be necessary to apologize to the MPs and to the Ukrainian parliament, " Razumkov said on the air of the Podrobytsi Tyzhnia (Details of the Week) program on the Inter TV channel on Sunday
He said that he had "in absentia and face-to-face discussions" with Danilov about which body should determine the list of "oligarchs", and recalled that, in his opinion, this should not relate to the powers of the NSDC.
At the same time, the speaker said that "going the way of speculation or baseless accusations" is not his format of work as the head of the Verkhovna Rada.
"Perhaps, the apparatus of the National Security and Defense Council has more experience in this regard, but I hope, nevertheless, not," Razumkov said.
At the same time, the head of the Verkhovna Rada said that if the bill on de-oligarchization is objective and balanced, then it can be voted on at second reading within the walls of the Verkhovna Rada.
