KYIV. Sept 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Law Enforcement Activities will monitor the investigation of high-profile murders, in particular of activist Kateryna Handziuk, in accordance with the Rules of Procedure, in case of relevant appeals from applicants, Servant of the People faction Serhiy Ionushas said.
"Parliamentary scrutiny is also a matter for the committee. Of course, if there are appeals from the applicants, we will consider them in accordance with the Rules of Procedure," Ionushas said at a briefing on Monday evening.
He also said that since the previous head of the committee was current Interior Minister Denys Monastyrsky, "we will be in close communication and will inform journalists" about the control of cases of high-profile murders.
