Rada to allow determining jurisdiction of cases involving foreigners by agreement of parties
KYIV. Sept 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Verkhovna Rada plans to allow determining the jurisdiction of a case with a foreign element by agreement of the parties.
A total of 320 MPs voted at first reading for the corresponding presidential bill No. 5120.
The draft law amending some laws in connection with the ratification of the Convention on the Choice of Court proposes to amend the Civil and Commercial Procedural Codes and the Law on Private International Law and to determine the jurisdiction of a case with a foreign element by agreement of the parties.
In addition, amendments to the law On Private International Law also propose to provide for the implementation of the right of participants in legal relations with a foreign element to conclude agreements on the choice of court.
