Rada resolves issues of audit activity

KYIV. Sept 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – On Tuesday, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a bill (No. 6245) on improving the legal framework for auditing activities in Ukraine, which, in particular, transferred part of the powers to professional organizations, MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak, deputy head of the relevant parliamentary committee and co-author of the document, has said.

"We held three working groups and had a vote immediately at the first and final reading. 298 deputies," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to him, work on the bill was carried out for a long time with the Ministry of Finance, the National Securities and Stock Market Commission, the National Bank of Ukraine, experts and business.

Zhelezniak also pointed out the implementation of the provisions of the Directive of the European Parliament and the Council of the EU, the clarification of requirements for auditors and audit firms in terms of goodwill, as well as the clarification of information provided in audit reports among the key changes.

In addition, the MP said that the powers of the Public Supervision Authority over Auditing Activities (in Ukrainian OSNAD) to form the Supervisory Board and the Quality Assurance Inspectorate are being clarified, as well as the cost of exams and advanced training is being reduced.
