Rada ratifies agreement on participation in EU4Health programme
KYIV. Jan 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Verkhovna Rada has ratified an agreement with the European Union on Ukraine’s participation in the EU4Health programme.
The adoption of relevant bill No. 0171 at the plenary session on Thursday was generally supported by 310 MPs, Yaroslav Zhelezniak, member of the Holos faction, said.
According to the explanatory note, the goal of the EU4Health programme is to improve and strengthen the health of the population of European countries, promote a healthy lifestyle and prevent the spread of diseases, protect people from serious cross-border threats, and improve the availability, accessibility and affordability of medicines.
It is predicted that Ukraine’s participation in the programme will make it possible to better prepare the domestic healthcare system to European standards and facilitate sectoral integration with the European Union.
