Rada ratifies Additional Protocol to Council of Europe Convention on Prevention of Terrorism

KYIV. Sept 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Verkhovna Rada has ratified the Additional Protocol to the Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism.

Some 319 deputies voted for corresponding bill No. 0164 at the plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday, parliamentarian Yaroslav Zhelezniak (Holos faction) said on Telegram.

According to the draft law, the Security Service of Ukraine performs the function of a contact point of Ukraine responsible for the exchange of information about persons who travel abroad for terrorist purposes, which is provided for in Article 7 of the Additional Protocol to the Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism.

Ukraine signed the Additional Protocol to the Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism in Riga on October 28, 2015.
