Rada proposes to apply to UN in view of deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia – draft resolution
KYIV. Feb 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A group of MPs proposes to the Verkhovna Rada to accept an appeal to the UN Committee on Human Rights, the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, the International Court of Justice, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in view of the deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia.
We are talking about the violation by Russia of international treaties (conventions) that have signs of genocide against the Ukrainian people in terms of the forced deportation to the aggressor state or within the occupied territories of Ukraine of children-citizens of Ukraine and children living in Ukraine, and with the requirement to return them parents or legal representatives.
Relevant draft resolution No.9038 was registered in Parliament on February 21. Its text is not currently available on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
The authors of the legislative initiative were more than 40 MPs of visas of various groups and factions, in particular Tetiana Skrypka, Mykyta Poturayev, Yevhenia Kravchuk, Halyna Tretiakova, Vasyl Virastiuk (Servant of the People faction), Yuriy Pavlenko, Mykola Kniazhytsky (European Solidarity faction), Iryna Konstankevych (For the Future group), Volodymyr Areshonkov (Dovira group), Mykhailo Tsymbaliuk (Batkivschyna faction) and Yaroslav Yurchyshyn (Holos faction).
