Rada proposed to prohibit transfer of state, municipal property for rent to religious organization headquartered in Russia

KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – MPs propose to prohibit the transfer of state or communal property on lease to a religious organization, headquartered in the Russian Federation.

The text of draft law No. 8262 on amendments to improve the legal regulation of the activities of religious organizations has been posted on the website of the parliament.

MPs propose to amend the laws on freedom of conscience and religious organizations, on state registration of legal entities, individual entrepreneurs and public formations and on lease of state and communal property.

Changes to the legislation, in particular, propose to prohibit the transfer of state or communal property for rent, gratuitous use to a religious organization, which is part of a religious organization, headquartered outside Ukraine in the state, which is recognized by law as having committed military aggression against Ukraine and/or temporarily occupied part of the territory of Ukraine.

As reported, this bill was registered in the Verkhovna Rada on December 5.

Among the authors of the bill are Iryna Konstankevych (For the Future group), Mykyta Poturayev (the Servant of the People party), Yulia Klymenko (Holos), Rostyslav Pavlenko (European Solidarity).
