KYIV. Nov 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Verkhovna Rada may consider the resignation of Oleksandr Tkachenko from the post of Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine at the current plenary week, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Oleksandr Korniyenko said.
"If there is a statement and there will be a committee, then this issue can be considered [this week’s issue] in the hall, theoretically," Korniyenko told reporters on Monday evening, answering a question from an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent.
At the same time, he said that so far the parliament has not discussed possible candidates for this position instead of Tkachenko. At the same time, the very decision of the minister to resign was called a surprise by the first vice speaker.
As reported, on November 11, Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko announced that he had written a letter of resignation from the post of minister.
