Rada may consider bills on multiple citizenship by end of year – Korniyenko
KYIV. Dec 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Verkhovna Rada may consider the bills on multiple citizenship initiated by the President of Ukraine by the end of 2021, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Oleksandr Korniyenko said.
"In the package that the president submitted, there are no changes to the Constitution. We will consider these bills […] starting from the next plenary week there will be something to work on, because it is possible to include these bills in the agenda of the session and hold, for example, a committee. In the last week of the working week [December 14-17], we can try to vote at the first reading," Korniyenko said.
As reported, on December 2, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky submitted to the Verkhovna Rada Bill No. 6368 on multiple citizenship for Ukrainians living in the countries of the European Union and the U.S., as well as a package of bills aimed at countering threats to national security in the field of citizenship.
