Rada instructs govt to analyze provision of housing for Ukrainians

KYIV. Sept 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Verkhovna Rada instructed the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the state of housing for citizens by category in terms of regions, cities, merged territorial communities, departments and the country as a whole.

The adoption of the relevant draft resolution No. 5251 was supported by 343 MPs at the plenary session on Wednesday.

According to this document, the government’s analysis should also include data on the number of Ukrainians in the queues, on the funds needed to provide citizens with housing, taking into account its average cost in the relevant territory.

In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers undertakes to analyze the average and maximum length of stay of citizens in the register, the dynamics of the housing queue since 1991, as well as statistics on housing for the last ten10 years.

The purpose of such an analysis is to develop a government program to ensure the realization of citizens’ right to housing.

The Cabinet of Ministers will have to inform the Rada and the President of Ukraine about the implementation of this resolution within three months.
