Rada doesn't foresee use of $350 mln of Canada's loan for gas purchase by Naftogaz – MP

KYIV. Aug 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Verkhovna Rada did not include in the final version of amendments to the 2022 state budget (bill No. 7644) the allocation of UAH 12.7 billion (about $350 million) to NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy at the expense of a loan from the Canadian government.

"An amendment about UAH 12.7 billion to Naftogaz for the purchase of gas for the loan (for 10 years at 1.6%) was not included in the final version," MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak (the Holos faction) wrote on Telegram.

As reported, bill No. 7644 from a large group of MPs of the ruling Servant of the People faction, including the heads of several leading parliamentary committees, provides for an increase in 2022 state budget spending by UAH 270.18 billion, of which UAH 269.45 billion is for national security and defense through increased domestic borrowing.
