Rada condemns Russia's repression against Crimean Tatars in occupied Crimea

KYIV. Sept 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Verkhovna Rada condemned the searches, abductions and arrests of Crimean Tatars by Russia in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

The corresponding statement about the illegal detention of first deputy head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Nariman Dzhelyal and other representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people of Crimea in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea by the aggressor state of the Russian Federation (resolution No. 6007) was supported by 293 MPs.

The Ukrainian parliament called on national governments and parliaments of foreign states, international organizations and their parliamentary assemblies to condemn the new wave of repression by the Russian Federation against the indigenous Crimean Tatar people in the temporarily occupied Crimea and to take restrictive measures against all those involved in organizing, managing and committing these crimes.
