Rada calls on world community to recognize Russian PMCs as terrorist organizations

KYIV. Feb 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Verkhovna Rada has adopted an appeal to the United Nations (UN), the European Parliament, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), the parliamentary assemblies of the OSCE, NATO, the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), the governments and parliaments of the world states with a call to recognize Russian private military companies as terrorist organizations.

The adoption of relevant draft resolution No. 3735 was supported by 336 deputies at a plenary meeting on Monday, Yaroslav Zhelezniak, a member of the Holos faction, said on his Telegram channel.

The Rada calls on the world community to include Russian PMCs in the lists of terrorist organizations, and to recognize the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism, which fully supports it and blocks the activities of the UN Security Council, thereby endangering international peace and security.

Ukrainian parliamentarians also consider it necessary to increase pressure on Russia, including through the introduction of new sanctions, in order to stop Russian aggression and force the leadership of the Russian Federation to refuse funding, weapons and support for private military companies.
