Rada at start of political season will focus on package of laws to meet obligations to IMF – MP Zhelezniak

KYIV. Aug 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – At the beginning of the political season, the Verkhovna Rada will focus primarily on the adoption of a package of bills aimed at closing Ukraine’s obligations within cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), head of the Holos parliamentary faction Yaroslav Zhelezniak predicts.

"The main focus will be precisely on the package of laws aimed at closing the obligations on the IMF: law on the NABU No. 5459-1 (second reading), four technical draft laws on banking legislation and the NBU (Nos. 5850, 5851, 5852, 5853), submitting a balanced draft law on the state budget for 2022," he said on Telegram.

According to the calendar plan, the sixth session of the Verkhovna Rada of the ninth convocation will open on September 7, 2021 and will last until January 21, 2022.

As reported, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Thursday that the Cabinet of Ministers will submit the draft state budget for 2022 to the Verkhovna Rada on time, before September 15.
