Rada appoints Klymenko as Interior Minister – MP
KYIV. Feb 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has appointed Ihor Klymenko to the post of Interior Minister.
The adoption of relevant draft resolution No. 8430 was supported by 321 MPs at the plenary session on Tuesday, member of the Holos faction Yaroslav Zhelezniak has said.
"The prime minister represented Mr. Klymenko. Without the president and others," the parliamentarian said in Telegram.
Klymenko is a police general of the first rank. On January 18, 2023, after the death of the leadership of the ministry in a plane crash in Brovary, Kyiv region, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed Klymenko as Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and entrusted him with the duties of the head of the department. Prior to that, from September 25, 2019 to January 20, 2023, he headed the National Police of Ukraine.
