Putin's statements about partial mobilization to cause escalation of war in Ukraine – British FM
KYIV. Sept 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Foreign Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Gillian Keegan notes that the statements of Russian President Vladimir Putin about the "partial mobilization" of reserve forces in the Russian Federation is an "alarming escalation" of the war in Ukraine.
In a comment to Sky News, she said that threats should be taken "seriously" as Ukraine begins to move forward, returning the lands previously occupied by Russia.
Keegan also criticized Putin for lying and the war in Ukraine. This is Putin’s lie, she said, and he continues to completely distort what happened in Ukraine. She said that this is Russia’s illegal war in Ukraine, and we will continue to support Ukraine, as well as all NATO allies.
She also addressed Ukrainians, saying that Britain is with Ukraine, being on Ukraine’s side, adding that they will help in any way they can.
As reported, British Prime Minister Elizabeth Truss announced on Tuesday London’s intentions to spend at least $2.6 billion in support of Ukraine in 2023.
