Public registrars to be required to verify buyer before registering rights to real estate

KYIV. May 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Public registrars will be required to check the entity possessing property at the stage of compiling an application.

As the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, reported on the Telegram channel, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on May 3, appropriate changes were made to the procedure for state registration of rights to real estate.

Now public registrars of rights to real estate is obliged to perform all actions related to the verification and entering of information about the identified entity possessing property, encumbrances, even at the stage of compiling the application.

In addition to existing mechanisms, such verification will be carried out by: confirming the availability of a unique entry number in the Unified Public Demographic Register; verification of the identified EDRPOU code from the Unified Register of Businesses and Organizations or tax number in the Unified Data Bank of Taxpayers – for legal entities.
