Pseudo-deputy mayor of Donetsk notified in absentia of suspicion of encroachment on Ukraine's territorial integrity – prosecutor's office

KYIV. Sept 22 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The pseudo-deputy mayor of Donetsk was notified in absentia of suspicion of encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, the press service of Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office said.

"According to the procedural leadership of Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office, a 45-year-old native of Donetsk was informed in absentia of suspicion of encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine (Part 2 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the prosecutor’s office said.

The pretrial investigation established that since 2016 the lawbreaker, being in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region, "has been holding a pseudo-post of deputy head of Donetsk administration," the prosecutor’s office said.

In particular, he participates in the formation and distribution of the so-called budget funds, organizes mobilization work among the population. Also, the suspect, using the media controlled by the occupation authorities of the Russian Federation, during meetings with residents of Donetsk, speaks out in support of the legitimization of the so-called "DPR."
