Prosecutors report casualties, incl. child, in enemy attack on Bohodukhivsky district, Kharkiv region

KHARKIV. Aug 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A pre-trial investigation into a shelling attack on two residential areas in Kharkiv region, committed by the Russian occupation forces on August 12, has been launched under the procedural guidance of Bohodukhivsky District Prosecutor’s Office of Kharkiv region.

"According to preliminary data, the shelling was carried out from Uragan systems from the occupied territory. Priority investigative actions are currently being carried out. In the future, the materials of the criminal proceedings will be transferred to the SBU Department in Kharkiv region," the press service of Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office said.

According to the investigation, at around 07:30, the Russian troops fired at the village of Baranivka. As a result of the shelling, a 50-year-old woman was killed and a 28-year-old man was wounded. At around 12:30, the occupiers fired on the village of Zolochiv. As a result of the shelling, a 13-year-old boy and an 83-year-old woman were wounded. In addition, two houses were damaged.

Both criminal cases were opened on the fact of the violation of the laws and customs of war (Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
