"The prosecutor’s office of the autonomy reported suspicion to the ‘Crimean senator’ (previously the position was called a member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation from the occupation authorities of the Republic of Crimea). According to the investigation, the suspect, since the occupation of the peninsula by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in 2014, switched to the side of the occupiers and actively began to build her own ‘career.’ First, she was appointed a member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia from the occupation administration of the Russian Federation in Crimea, and in 2019 she was reassigned again," the prosecutor’s office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea said on Facebook.
According to the prosecutor’s office, after the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, in April of this year, the suspect repeatedly spoke on the propaganda resources of the aggressor country.
"In her speeches, she publicly supported the illegal actions of the occupying state aimed at supporting the war in Ukraine, justified the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and glorified, that is, glorification of its participants. In particular, in her speeches, she called for the need to intensify the ‘special operation’, the continuation of the commission of war crimes and crimes against humanity by the Russian army on Ukrainian territory, and also expressed gratitude to the ‘defenders’ and ‘liberators,’" the message of the prosecutor’s office of the autonomy states.
The suspect’s actions are qualified under Part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (justification, recognition of the legitimate armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants and Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaboration).
