Prosecutor General: We know for sure who ordered destruction of residential building in Dnipro
(Text after paragraph five has been added)
KYIV. Jan 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin says that the law enforcement system of Ukraine is aware of who gave the criminal order to destroy a residential building in Dnipro.
"I want to say from the Prosecutor General’s Office, from the entire law enforcement system, that we will find everyone who is involved in this terrible villainous event," Kostin said on the air of the national telethon on Monday.
The Prosecutor General thanked everyone who helps Ukrainian law enforcement officers in finding the perpetrators.
"We know for sure who exactly ordered the destruction of this residential building," the prosecutor general said.
He added: "The missile that – we are 99% sure – destroyed this house is the same type of missile that has already been used in other cases."
According to Kostin, this type of missiles was used by the enemy during the strike on June 27, 2022 at the shopping center in Kremenchuk, on July 1 – at Serhiyivka, Odesa region.
"This week, a decision will be made to unite all criminal proceedings related to the death of people and the destruction of civilian facilities in our country associated with the use of this terrible weapon. This rocket … is practically hypersonic, it is very difficult to track … it is not an accurate weapon," the Prosecutor General said.
He stressed that there was no military facility nearby in Serhiyivka, Odesa region, Kremenchuk, and Dnipro.
"It’s very far from the front line. This proves that the aggressor country is fundamentally killing the Ukrainian people," the Prosecutor General said.
Kostin noted: "The leadership of the Russian army changes from time to time, but I want Ukrainians to know that this is exactly this unit of the military space forces, it is this regiment of long-range aviation that is controlled by the same leaders. That is, what they did in Serhiyivka, in Kremenchuk, in Dnipro – all this is probably fully supported by the highest military and political command of the aggressor country."
