Prosecutor General Kostin: Adoption of resolution on special tribunal means that EU supports Ukraine
KYIV. Jan 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The adoption by the European Parliament of a resolution on the establishment of a special tribunal for the crime of aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine is a clear signal of support for Ukraine in the fight for justice, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin notes.
“The adoption of the European Parliament’s resolution urging for the creation of the Special Tribunal is a clear sign that Europe stands with Ukraine in our joint struggle for justice and shares our stance: Russia’s leadership and its allies must be held accountable ASAP,” Kostin said on Twitter Thursday.
According to the Prosecutor General, the overwhelming majority of MEPs voted for the resolution.
“Among other positions, it states that the EU must show leadership in the fight against impunity and for peace. Strongly welcome its adoption and believe that leadership and unity are the keys to our joint victory,” Kostin added.
