Prometey buys seven tractors, plans to increase the fleet to 100 units
KYIV. Jan 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Prometey group of companies has bought seven new tow trucks with DAF trailers and Wielton semi-trailers to increase its transport independence, and soon it plans to increase the number of grain carriers to 100 vehicles.
According to a press release from the grain trader, the transaction was paid for from a credit line with a limit of UAH 38 million provided by OTP Bank as part of a leasing program.
The acquisition of freight transport on lease allowed the holding to receive "long" money on the domestic market with a significant shortage of them in the conditions of military aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. In addition, own transport will significantly strengthen the competitive position of Prometey and will avoid shortages of grain carriers, especially during the season.
"We consider the replenishment of the fleet on leasing terms as a long-term investment, moreover, profitable in an unstable economy. We must take care of our transport independence even under martial law. In the future, we plan to have a fleet of 200 vehicles that fully satisfy our needs for grain transportation," the holding quoted Deputy Head of Corporate Finance Sector Valeriy Stupak.
The Prometey group provides services for the storage, processing, and logistics of crops. Before the Russian aggression, the holding owned 34 silos in Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Khmelnytsky, Zaporizhia, Sumy, Odesa, Kherson, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
