Profit of Ukrainian banks falls by 71% in Jan-Nov – NBU

KYIV. Dec 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The profit of Ukrainian banks in January-November 2022 amounted to UAH 19.429 billion, which is 70.6% less than in the same period in 2021 (UAH 65.728 billion), the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has reported.

According to the report, the profit of Ukrainian banks in November totaled UAH 8.451 billion, which is 2.3 times more than a month earlier (UAH 3.6 billion).

The regulator said that the income of banks in November grew by 12.2%, and expenses by 9.7%.

According to the regulator, the income of banks in January-November rose by 32% compared with the figure for the same period last year, to UAH 322 billion.

At the same time, fee and commission income in January-November 2022 fell by 8.4% to UAH 76.46 billion (whereas it grew by 32.6% over the same period last year).

At the same time, the result from the revaluation and from purchase and sale transactions was positive and amounted to UAH 42.3 billion, while for the same period last year it was negative and amounted to UAH 2.7 billion.

At the same time, the expenses of the banking system in January-November 2022 increased 1.7 times compared to this indicator in 2021, to UAH 302.6 billion, including funds sent to reserves 13.6 times, to UAH 113 billion . At the same time, fee and commission expenses grew by 1.6%, to UAH 31.99 billion,

As reported, Ukrainian banks doubled their net profit in 2021 to UAH 77.5 billion compared to UAH 41.3 billion in 2020.
