Process of creating water users organizations in Ukraine starts – State Fisheries Agency
KYIV. Nov 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – An initiative group of entrepreneurs has planned to hold a founding meeting to create a water users organization with the participation of land owners and users who use the services of the Inhulets irrigation system.
The members of the future organization notified the State Agency for Land Reclamation and Fisheries of Ukraine about the holding of the relevant meeting, according to the agency’s website.
"This is the beginning of a new stage in the development of hydrotechnical land reclamation in Ukraine. A historic event that opens the way from technical and moral decline to new horizons for increasing the area of irrigated land to increase the productivity of farmland in compliance with the environmental component," First Deputy Head of the Agency Taras Kot said.
The State Fisheries Agency recalled that the water users organization as a legal entity is created by the owners or users of farmland for the use and maintenance of the engineering infrastructure of reclamation systems. The goal is to provide services for hydrotechnical reclamation of land plots in the territory of services by the water users organization.
