Procedure for state registration of feed additives unlocked – Economy Ministry
KYIV. Sept 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – State registration of feed additives in Ukraine became possible after the Ministry of Economy approved the procedure for forming the registration dossier on August 30: previously, the absence of regulatory requirements for this document created an artificial shortage of the range of feed additives in the country, the ministry reported on its website on Wednesday.
"From now on, more than 7,000 business entities which activities are related to production and circulation of feed have the opportunity to register safe and high-quality feed additives for animals. The procedure for forming the registration dossier has been developed in accordance with European legislation. Its adoption was an important step in bringing the Ukrainian feed market to the EU requirements," Deputy Economy Minister Iryna Novikova said.
According to the ministry, on August 30, its order No. 307 (of July 26, 2021) came into effect, which defines regulatory requirements for the registration dossier necessary for the full functioning of the procedure for state registration of feed additives. As specified, the inability to register these additives created in Ukraine a shortage of quality products necessary for the health of domestic and productive animals.
As reported, in August 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution simplifying the procedure for state registration of feed production facilities, as well as providing market operators with free access to information on feed materials and feed properties.
The document introduces clear requirements for state registration of capacities for production of animal feed, and simplifies the mechanism for issuing permits for their operation by the State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
