Prigozhin places flags on buildings that physically don't exist for long time – Cherevaty
KYIV. Apr 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The leader of the Wagner Private Military Company (PMC) Yevgeny Prigozhin places flags on the buildings in Bakhmut that do not physically exist for a long time, the building of the town administration had been destroyed there, Spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Cherevaty has said.
“Prigozhin must be traveling to Bakhmut because Peterburg is not a safe place for him now. You see, restaurants go off there. And he places flags on the buildings that do not physically exist for a long time. The building, as he said, of the town administration, had been completely devastated,” he said on the aid of the national telethon on Wednesday.
Cherevaty emphasized that Bakhmut remains the main target of the enemy attacks, particularly Wagner fighters.
“Thirty-two enemy attacks occurred there in the past 24 hours. Twenty-six military clashes in Bakhmut alone and in the neighborhood. The enemy shelled our positions 238 times using cannon and rocket artillery, 91 occupiers were destroyed, and 119 were wounded. Their tank, Grad system, and three field ammunition depots were eliminated,” he said.
The major enemy losses were among Wagner fighters, since they are the main attacking force, according to Cherevaty.
The Kupiansk and Lyman directions of the front remain strained, the General Staff said.
Earlier, Prigozhin said that the Russian forces have “legally seized” Bakhmut. According to him, a Russian flag was put up on the town administration in commemoration of the killed propagandist Vladlen Tatarsky.
